Self-portrait from the series
2020

I began creating sister-like characters as the central subjects of my photographs. The Sisters series emerged from a deeply personal space—a desire to address and soften my lifelong loneliness. Through these characters, I sought connection, creating figures that offered both companionship and solace within my work.

In creating these portraits, I found a sense of relief—a way to feel less alone. Even in moments of solitude, I found that through these characters, I had someone to lean on. They became a reflection of myself: complex, intimate, and supportive, despite their fictional nature.

Eventually, the series was named Sisters—a title that captured the essence of these characters as I saw them: not just figures in photographs, but representations of an inner bond, an emotional kinship, and an unspoken solidarity.

This self-portrait from the series captures my own presence within the world of the created characters, inviting the viewer to witness the intimate relationship between self and other, between isolation and connection. These postcards are made from thick high-quality matte paper, so they serve as a great addition to a gift or just a thoughtful written note to a friend.
